Rules & Regulations
  1. Categories: (i) Competition (ii) Out of Competition.
  2. Sections: (i) Short Fiction (ii) Documentary.
  3. Duration: Maxim 40 minutes.
  4. Eligibility: Films made between 1 Jan 2019 to 28 Feb 2022 in any format/ country/ language with English subtitles.
  5. Awards: Cash Awards for Best and Second Best Films in Both Sections. Some more Awards may be declared in due course.
  6. Certificates will be issued to all participants for all categories whose films will be selected for final screening.
  7. Premiere: No condition of premiere. Even films available in YouTube or OTT platforms are also eligible.
  8. Embargo: Films submitted earlier in any edition of BISFF will be rejected.
  9. One filmmaker can submit any number of entries but separate submission forms should be submitted for every entry with separate entry fees.
  10. Entry Fee (non refundable): Rs. 800 (INR) + 18% GST = Rs. 944/- (INR) by Cash/ DD/ NEFT/ Bank Transfer Payable to: BENGAL FILM AND TELEVISION CHAMBER OF COMMERCE A/C-BISFF. A/C No. 127001001251. IFSC Code: ICIC0001270. ICICI Bank Ltd. Esplanade Branch Kolkata. Swift Code ICICINBBCTS.
  11. Payment Proof: Transaction Receipt/ Proof of the Deposit of Entry Fee should be sent to bisffkolkata@gmail.com for verification.
  12. Submission: Either Online or Directly to the Office of BFTCC (see Contact) by downloading the Submission Form.
  13. Preview Screener: Preferably Vimeo Link with Password or any other easily accessible online preview link or Pen-drive (non-returnable). No DVD/VCD.
  14. Final Screener: HR (max 3GB) downloadable file in MOV or MP4 format or Pen-drive (non-returnable) only after receiving the confirmation for final selection. No DVD/VCD.
  15. Decision for selection of any film for competitive or non-competitive section or rejection of any film is the sole prerogative of the festival committee. No negotiation will be entertained in this respect.
  16. Films once submitted can not be withdrawn under any circumstances.
  17. Any individual or organization holding the due ownership rights of the films can submit any number of entries.
  18. Festival authorities will have the right to screen any selected film (max. 5 screenings) in different cities of India on non-commercial basis.
  19. For promotional/publicity purposes, excerpts from any film (max. 60 secs) may be used on non-commercial basis.
  20. Legal jurisdiction: Calcutta High Court.
  21. Deadline for Submission: 31 March 2022.
